Water Balloon Inflation Comic

So this is probably a big surprise to see from me (it's a surprise to me too). I've been dabbling in drawing for some time now but I've been unable to get my drawings up in any way that satisfied me. I have no decent art program, no tablet, no scanner, and the best camera at my disposal being my 3DS, so for a while I considered myself stuck. What I eventually did was I took a bunch of crappy quality pictures of each panel (the faces are nearly invisible in the pictures) and painstakingly traced over each one and colored them in as best I could (I got kinda lazy with that...). I'm not kidding when I say painstaking; I can feel damage in my hand. Hopefully it recovers. And I did it all with a mousepad. That thing is unholy when it comes to drawing, so that's why a lot of the lines look weird and wavy. Not much I can do about that now.

Regardless of the struggles it took to get it to the point of being drawn, this was actually the first thing I drew on paper after deciding to try drawing. Perhaps it was too ambitious to go straight for a comic. I know a lot isn't going to look right about some of these pictures, i.e. shading, hands, eyes, whatever else you come up with, but I think those are things that even normal artists agree can be difficult. Go easy on this thing in terms of criticism because A) it's my first drawn work B) it was a pain to even start drawing it C) my hand is hurting and D) mousepad.

All in all, kinda proud that I drew anything at all and everyone starts somewhere.
